NHL - David Savard, Tampa Bay Lightning Following 10 seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets, defenceman David Savard was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning during the 2021 NHL Trade Period. He was a large part of the team, a leader both on and off the ice and a presence coaching staff could rely always rely on. As part of that multi-team deal, the Blue Jackets acquired a first-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft and a third-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.
To date this season, David appeared in 40 games with the Blue Jackets, adding to his total of 597 NHL games and 166 points with Columbus.
AHL - Jared McIsaac, Grand Rapids Griffins After dealing with ongoing injuries during multiple seasons, defenceman Jared McIsaac is now cleared and set to make his AHL debut with the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Missing the first half of last season due to a shoulder injury, he joined the Wildcats at Christmas time where he played 25 games, notching 17 points.
Due to the delayed start in the AHL this year, he was set to play in Finland's SK-Liiga with HPK, however, only suited up for one game before another injury ensued.
Yesterday, the Detroit Red Wings assigned McIsaac to Grand Rapids after being cleared and moved from the injured reserve list.
Grand Rapids is back on the ice Thursday night and Jared is expected to play this week.
