GAME 1
Gerrad Rohan went 1-2, helping the Bristol Blues (18-10) to a 3-1 victory over the Torrington Titans (11-14) on Wednesday at Muzzy Field.
Dominic LoBrutto brought the heat against the Torrington Titans during his outing. The Torrington Titans managed just four hits off of LoBrutto, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his five innings of work.
Robbie Hitt ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted 4 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
GAME 2
Ryan Costello came off the bench and reached in the eighth to lead the Bristol Blues (19-10) to a 4-3 win over the Torrington Titans (11-15) on Wednesday at Muzzy Field.
A walk-off single by Liam Scafariello gave the Bristol Blues the win. It was his only hit in five at-bats that night.
Davis Strong did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Bristol Blues, reaching base four times. He singled in the first, third, and tenth innings.
Steve Wallace got the win, running his season record to 1-2. Wallace struck out four, walked none and gave up one hit.
Evan DeVico was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted the final 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed two runs, one earned.
The Titans have another scheduled doubleheader on Thursday, this time with the Pittsfield Suns at Fuessenich Park. It will be their first home doubleheader of the season. Game one is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. with game two to follow. David Gerics and Colby Tollison will get the starts for the Titans.
