CHARLESTON, W.V. - Maikel Franco's two-run single in the top of the 7th inning proved to be the game-winner in a rain-shortened affair between the BlueClaws and Power Sunday afternoon.

In a 5-5 ballgame, Franco ripped a two-out single to score Chris Duffy from 3rd base and Aaron Altherr from 2nd base to break the tie.

The BlueClaws had a 5-1 lead entering the bottom of the 5th inning before allowing West Virginia to score four runs and tie the game. BlueClaws lefty Chris Duffy came to the plate with the bases loaded in the 5th and connected on his fifth homer of the season. It was the third grand slam of the season for Lakewood, and it put them back in front of West Virginia after West Virgini tied it 1-1 the previous inning.

Luis Paulino picked up the win for the BlueClaws with 2.1 innings of scoreless baseball in relief of started Colin Kleven. Paulino's record moves to 4-1 on the season.

The BlueClaws will get the day off Monday before beginning an eight-game home stand Tuesday against the S.A.L. Northern Division-leading Hickory Crawdads. Ethan Stewart (4-7, 3.48) will take the mound for Lakewood against Hickory's Will Lamb (2-6, 4.19).

First pitch for Tuesday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Listen to all the action on WOBM 1160-AM and WOBM 1310-AM beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the BlueClaws Beat pre-game show.
