CHARLESTON, WV - The BlueClaws used a four-run first inning and an 14-hit outburst to down West Virginia 15-0 in game two of their Tuesday double-header after the Power took the opening game 8-5.

The BlueClaws got going early on in game two, scoring four unearned runs in the first inning that included a two-run double from Cole Stobbe and an RBI double from Nick Maton. Lakewood added two more runs in the second on RBI singles from Simon Muzziotti and Colby Fitch and had a 6-0 lead on six unearned runs.

That was more than enough for David Parkinson. Making his first start as a BlueClaw, the former Ole Miss Rebel threw five scoreless innings with nine strikeouts, one off his career high.

Nick Maton added his second home run of the season in the sixth inning as the BlueClaws shortstop matched his entire home run total from 2017 with Williamsport. Colby Fitch added a grand slam in the top of the seventh, his third professional home run and first of the season. It was the first BlueClaws grand slam since Jose Pujols on June 18, 2016.

Power starter Sergio Cubilete (0-1) gave up nine runs, three earned, in 2.1 innings and took the loss. Simon Muzziotti and Josh Stephen each had three hits while Cole Stobbe had two hits and two RBIs.

The BlueClaws got three back in the third on a three-run Cole Stobbe home run, his first of the year and 13th professional home run. Lakewood added runs on Daniel Brito RBI singles in the fourth and sixth but fell three runs short.

Connor Brogdon (0-1) gave up five runs in 1.1 innings and took the loss while Adam Oller (1-0) gave up one earned run in three innings to earn the win in relief for West Virginia. Power starter Braeden Ogle allowed three runs in three innings.
