Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - The BlueClaws scored twice in the ninth inning but fell three runs short on Friday, falling 6-3 to Hudson Valley for their fourth straight loss.

Jersey Shore (20-17) came north on an 11-game win streak but they have dropped the first four games to the Renegades (19-15).

The BlueClaws scored twice in the ninth on RBI singles by Otto Kemp and Leandro Pineda but Cole Ayers got Felix Reyes to ground out to end the game.

The BlueClaws took a second inning lead on a SAC fly from Andrick Nava. It remained 1-0 into the bottom of the fifth, when Cole Gabrielson tied the game at one apiece on a bloop single to shallow right field.

Hudson Valley then scored four times with two outs in the sixth inning to take the lead. A wild pitch broke the 1-1 tie before Rafael Flores singled home a run. Kiko Romero then hit a 2-run home run off Eiberson Castellano for a 5-1 Renegades lead.

Castellano (1-2) was charged with five runs in 5.2 innings and took the loss. Sebastian Keane (2-3) matched the longest outing by a BlueClaws opponent this year, allowing one run over seven innings and striking out four to earn the win.

Leandro Pineda had two hits for Jersey Shore in defeat.

The teams continue their series on Saturday at 5:05 pm. LHP Braeden Fausnaught starts for Jersey Shore.
