August 17, 2009 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release
LAKEWOOD, NJ - Individual game tickets for the 2009 BlueClaws post-season, presented by Central Jersey Blood Center, are now on sale to the general public.
The second post-season in BlueClaws history begins at FirstEnergy Park on Friday, September 11th, at 7:05 pm with game two of the South Atlantic League Northern Division Championship Series.
"Fan support is critical in the playoffs, and we've seen all year how great the fans are in Lakewood," said BlueClaws manager Dusty Wathan. "We can't wait for the playoffs and we hope the fans come out in full force."
Tickets will be the same $10 in advance that they have been all season long, and are available in person at the BlueClaws Box Office, on the phone at 732-901- 7000, or online at BlueClaws.com.
The full potential BlueClaws home playoff schedule is as follows (all games at 7:05 pm):
* SAL Northern Division Championship Series Game Two: Friday, September 11th * SAL Northern Division Championship Series Game Three (if necessary): Saturday, September 12th
* SAL Championship Series Game One: Monday, September 14th
* SAL Championship Series Game Two: Tuesday, September 15th
Tickets for any playoff game that does not get played will be credited to the fan's account for 2010.
As part of the countdown to the post-season, Central Jersey Blood Center COO Ryan Ragan will go onto the FirstEnergy Park roof on September 7th, and stay up there until the first pitch of the first home playoff game, or until Central Jersey Blood Center collects 300 pints of blood. They'll be set up in front of the ballpark all week collecting donations.
Finally, the September 11th playoff game will be a Friday version of Thirsty Thursday. There will be $1 beer and $1 soda, plus 50-cent wings all night long in the Coors Light WRAT Trap.
The Lakewood BlueClaws have led the South Atlantic League in average or overall attendance in each of their eight seasons. This year, they are expected to become the fastest team in both South Atlantic League and New Jersey history to eclipse the 4- million fan plateau.
By winning the first-half championship, the BlueClaws have made the playoffs for the second time in franchise history. Playoff four-packs are on sale now by calling the BlueClaws.
