LAKEWOOD, NJ - Damon Jones threw six scoreless innings with nine strikeouts and Addison Russ closed down his fifth save of the year as the BlueClaws topped Charleston 1-0 on Friday, completing a three-game sweep of the RiverDogs.

The BlueClaws (19-15) have now won four straight games, their longest win streak of the season, and earned their first series sweep since July of 2017 against Rome.

Jones (2-1) has now thrown six scoreless innings in each of his last two starts. His nine strikeouts were a new career high.

The BlueClaws got the game's lone run in the second inning on an RBI single from Josh Stephen. Nick Maton, who led off the inning with a double, came home to score. The run snapped a stretch of 25 straight scoreless innings from Charleston right-hander Garrett Whitlock (2-2).

Zach Warren threw a scoreless seventh and Kyle Dohy a scoreless eighth for Lakewood.

Jake Scheiner went 0-3, adding a walk. His nine-game hitting streak was snapped.

Dalton Guthrie and Nick Maton each had two hits for the BlueClaws.

The BlueClaws open a series with West Virginia on Saturday at 4:05 pm. RHP Connor Brogdon(1-1) starts for Lakewood against RHP Gavin Wallace (2-0).
