Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release
PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Blue Wahoos continue to be plagued by injuries. The Cincinnati Reds announced Saturday that outfielder Yorman Rodriguez has been placed on the disabled list with a strained oblique. In a corresponding move, the Wahoos have added outfielder Beau Amaral from Single-A Dayton.
The former seventh round pick out of UCLA was hitting .329 with nine stolen bases and 11 RBI with the Dragons at the time of his promotion. He had two hits in each of his last four games before getting transferred to Pensacola. Amaral is the son of former Major League veteran Rich Amaral.
Rodriguez heads to the disabled list as one of the Blue Wahoos hottest hitters. He is on an active nine-game hitting streak and has raised his average 135 points over the streak. Rodriguez has hit .325 with two home runs and six RBI over 19 games with the Wahoos this season.
Amaral is available for Saturday's game against the Braves.
