Montgomery Biscuits News Release
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After Curt Casali tied the game at two with a two-run single in the seventh inning, the Biscuits (16-7) would not score again until a six-run eleventh inning in an 8-2 win over the Jacksonville Suns (10-13) Saturday night at the Baseball Grounds. The win is the Biscuits' fourth-straight and gives Montgomery a series-win over Jacksonville.
With the bases loaded and one out in the eleventh inning, Taylor Motter came to the plate against Nick Wittgren in a tied game. Wittgren balked to bring in the go-ahead run. Motter sent a fly ball into right-centerfield to bring in the second run, followed by a run-scoring single by Casali - his third RBI of the game - to make it a 5-2 game. Two batters later, Argo launched a three-run homer to make it 8-2 Biscuits.
The Biscuits did not score their first run until the seventh inning. With the Suns leading 2-0, Casali came to the plate with the bases loaded. He would hit a one-hopper into left field to tie the game.
Montgomery trailed 2-0 after Brady Shoemaker drove in a run with a double in the first inning. Alex Burg made it a 2-0 game with an RBI-single in the fourth inning.
Jared Mortensen went six innings and allowed two runs for the no-decision, while the bullpen combined to throw five scoreless-innings. Matt Lollis, Bryce Stowell, Jimmy Patterson (1-0) and Santiago Garrido were the relievers who threw. Patterson picked up the win.
The Biscuits have now won three-straight series.
Game four of the series is Sunday afternoon at 2:05. RH Michael Colla will throw against LH Justin Nicolino.
