Oklahoma City Blue News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Blue defeated the Los Angeles D-Fenders, 107-100, on Monday behind a pair of double-doubles by Oklahoma City Thunder assignments Mitch McGary and Josh Huestis. McGary scored 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting alongside 13 rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes and Huestis tallied 10 points and 13 boards in 32 minutes.

The Blue pulled down a season-best 59 rebounds while limiting Los Angeles to 35 boards and outscoring the D-Fenders 64-24 in the paint.

Five Blue players scored in double figures as Dez Wells followed up his 20-point performance on Saturday with 17 points. Dakari Johnson totaled 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists and JP Tokoto collected 10 points and five rebounds.

Oklahoma City had fallen to the D-Fenders three nights before, 118-107. When asked about the difference that led to the Blue's success on Monday, Blue Head Coach Mark Daigneault credited the defensive stops leading to a faster pace.

"The difference between Friday and tonight was we got stops tonight and when you get stops you can get out and run and it can ignite your break," said Daigneault. "On Friday, we just didn't sustain stops but when you can get two, three, four stops in a row it can get you out and get you moving and that's why the pace was better tonight, because we were able to get multiple stops in a row."

Oklahoma City (9-19) distributed 24 assists, led by eight from Marquis Teague.

Los Angeles (13-14) was led by Vander Blue with 28 points.

The Blue concludes its four-game home stand on Thursday when it hosts the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at 7 p.m. For ticket information, visit OklahomaCityBlue.com.
