WILMINGTON - The Delaware Blue Coats, the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, took down the G League Ignite, 131-95 on Sunday afternoon at Chase Fieldhouse. Six Blue Coats scored in doubles figures in the win. As part of the G League Ignite Tour, the exhibition win is not counted toward the regular season standings.
Charles Bassey, on assignment from the 76ers, led the Blue Coats with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks. Paul Reed, also on assignment from Philadelphia, posted a double-double with 19 points (8-12 FG), 11 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Charlie Brown Jr. had an efficient 21 points (6-10 FG, 5-7 3FG, 3-3 FT) and 5 rebounds for the Blue Coats. Delaware's two-way contract player Myles Powell notched a double-double with 19 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds.
The Blue Coats used a 76-point first half to take a 23-point lead into the break. Delaware shot efficiently at all levels, shooting .560 (48-85) from the field, .500 (14-28) from three-point range, and .870 (13-15) from the free throw line.
MarJon Beauchamp led team Ignite with 25 points (11-21 FG, 3-7 3FG) and 4 rebounds in a team-high 38 minutes. Michael Foster Jr. dropped 17 points and 8 rebounds for the Ignite.
UP NEXT: The Blue Coats (5-3) get back into regular season play when they travel to the Westchester Knicks on Tuesday, February 1, at 7 p.m. ET.
