WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Football Club has announced that just over $27,000 was raised last year on behalf of all proceeds sold off pink merchandise during the month of October, 2012. The money will be donated to the Keeping Abreast Foundation for the third year in a row.

"We applaud and gratefully thank the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for their tremendous and continued support of the Keeping Abreast Fund and Manitoba women with breast cancer," said Jackie Stephen, Chair, Keeping Abreast. "One hundred percent of the funds raised during the Blue goes Pink campaign in October are directed to the Breast Cancer Reconstruction Surgery program to enhance the lives of breast cancer patients in our community."

In three years, the Blue Bombers have donated over $66,000 to the fund.

"Breast cancer is something that affects so many Manitoba women and their families which is why we are so proud to support the Keeping Abreast Fund," said Blue Bomber President and CEO, Garth Buchko. "We look forward to further strengthening this great partnership and encourage fans to show even stronger support in 2013 by purchasing and wearing pink."
