
Blue Bombers Add Import Quarterback and Wide Receiver

WINNIPEG, MB., March 7, 2014 - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the club has added import quarterback Robert Marve and import wide receiver Mario Urrutia.
Marve (6-1, 212, Purdue, February, 10, 1989 in Tampa, Florida ) comes to the Blue Bombers from a six-year NCAA career at Miami Florida (2007-2008) and Purdue University (2010-2012). He played 33 NCAA games over five seasons after starting off as a redshirt freshman in 2007. Marve started the full season at Miami in 2008 and led his team to a 6-5 record with 9 TD passes. He completed 389 passes for 3,960 yards with 29 TDs and 25 interceptions throughout his NCAA career. His best season came in 2012 for Purdue when he threw 13 TD passes and only 3 interceptions. Marve attended an NFL rookie camp with Tampa Bay in 2013.
Urrutia (6-6, 238, Louisville, January 18, 1986,in Louisville, Kentucky) joins the Blue Bombers from Louisville University where he spent three seasons (2005-2007) hauling in 130 passes for 2,271 yards and 16 TDs. He recorded six 100-yard games at Louisville and was twice named to the All-Big East second team. He was drafted by Cincinnati in the 7th Round of the 2008 Draft(246th overall) and also spent time in the NFL with New York (Jets) and Tampa Bay, through 2009. Since then he has spent time in the UFL and was most recently a star with the Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League, where grabbed 142 passes for 1,675 yards and 39 TDs and was named Rookie-of-the-Year in 2013.
