Blue Bombers Acquire Santos From Montreal

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have acquired import quarterback Ricky Santos from the Montreal Alouettes for non-import defensive end Riall Johnson and non-import defensive end Shawn Mayne.

Santos (6-2, 215, New Hampshire 07', DOB: April 26, 1984 in Norwood, MA) has been on the nine-game list with the Alouettes this season after signing there in 2008. Santos was in mini camps with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008.

He played his college football at New Hampshire for the Wildcats (2004-2007), playing in 11 games in 2007, completing 256 passes for 2,971 yards and 24 touchdowns. In 2006 he won the Walter Payton Award, given to the NCAA division 1-AA Most Outstanding Offensive Player, after completing 293 passes for 3,125 yards and 29 touchdowns. He set school records for most passing yards, most passing touchdowns, most pass attempts and most completions at New Hampshire finishing with 13,212 yards and 123 touchdowns.
