Billings Mustangs News Release
Great Falls, MT - Taylor Bloye was untouchable at times tonight. At one point, the right hander had retired 12 Voyagers hitters in a row during the middle innings. In the end, he worked eight innings and allowed just one earned run. The bigger stat though: zero walks.
Billings provided some early offense for Bloye. In the third inning, Jesus Azuaje singled off the Voyagers starter Ari Kauffman. The next batter, Chris Eusay, tripled him home for the first run of the ballgame. One pitch later, Eusay scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0 Mustangs in the third inning.
In the fifth inning, Tristen Carranza belted his fourth home run of the year with a moonshot blast over the left field fence to make it 4-0 Billings. All four of Carranza's home runs this season have come off the Voyagers pitching staff.
Dallas Bryan worked a scoreless ninth inning to earn his third save of the season and defeat the Voyagers 4-1.
Bloye was also helped out by a few defensive plays from SS Brandt Broussard and RF Jalen Garcia.
The Mustangs capture their first series victory since the middle of June, in a road series win in Missoula.
The Mustangs (15-26) and Voyagers (17-24) meet in the final game of a three game series tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM and don't forget to catch the pre-game show starting at 6:40 P.M. on ESPN Billings 910 AM/105.5 FM or online at espn910.com.
