BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (January 15, 2012) - Jordy Trottier scored a pair of first period goals and Zane Kalemba made 24 saves as the host Bloomington Blaze edged the Quad City Mallards 2-1 Sunday.

Trottier converted Vladimir Nikiforov's centering pass just under six minutes into the game to give the Blaze a 1-0 lead. Trottier provided what proved to be the game winning goal by pouncing on a rebound at 15:38 of the first period.

Kalemba held the Mallards off the scoreboard until Quad City's Eric Giosa finally buried the puck from the right wing circle with 3:13 remaining in the third period. The Mallards pulled goaltender David Brown for an extra attacker in the final minute, but could not generate a late equalizer.

The Mallards return home Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. to take on the Evansville IceMen. Fans can purchase $2 soft drinks and $2 beers at i wireless Center concession stands during all Tuesday night home games this season.

The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period. Individual game tickets are available for $12 in the upper level and $17 in the lower level and $25 for the first row along the glass for adults. Tickets for kids 12 and under are available for $5 off adult rates. In addition, tickets are available to military personnel for $2 off the regular adult rate.
