Blizzard To Hold Open Tryout

Green Bay Blizzard News Release


The Green Bay Blizzard is holding an open tryout on Saturday, December 9th at the Brown County Arena. The tryout is open to any athlete interested in playing for the 2006 American Conference Champion Green Bay Blizzard of the af2. Participants will be trying out for the 2007 Blizzard team, looking to reach the ArenaCup for the second consecutive year. The Green Bay Blizzard already has 7 players from its Championship team signed to an AFL roster. The Blizzard Coaching Staff pride themselves in helping players move on to the next level.

Green Bay Blizzard tryout information:

Date: Saturday, December 9th, 2006

Registration: 12:00 pm

Tryout is open to all athletes interested in playing for the Green Bay Blizzard during the 2007 season.

Tryout starts as soon as registration is complete!!! (approx. 1 pm)

Location: Brown County Arena 1901 S. Oneida St.

Green Bay, WI 54304

Cost: Pre-registration - $50 Day of tryout - $65 CASH ONLY

The deadline to pre-register is 5:00pm on Friday, December 8th, 2006.

Participants will be required to sign a waiver prior to taking part in any activities. Events will include: * Measurement for height/weight * 40-yard dash (timed at 20 and 40 yards) * Bench Press (reps) - 225/315 * 5/10/5 Pro shuttle * Vertical Leap * Position Drills * Kicking Drills (FOR KICKERS ONLY!)

The tryout will be held indoors on Astroturf. Participants should wear comfortable shorts and t-shirts, and either turf shoes or cross-trainers. Cleats will not be allowed.
