Blizzard ready for home finale

Green Bay, WI-The Green Bay end their 2004 home schedule this Saturday, July 17th against the San Diego Riptide. The Blizzard enter Saturday's game with a 4-3 home record. All-Time, the Blizzard is 6-9 at the Resch Center after two seasons of play. The Blizzard need a win against the Riptide to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Right now, the Blizzard is sitting 10th in the National Conference which quality only 6 teams into the playoffs.

The Blizzard have a 5-8 record and is ranked 10th in Scoring Offense (50.8 pts/game) and 24th in Scoring Defense (53.9 pts/game). Since the departure of injured OS Randall Lane and QB Chris Greisen, WR/LB Robert Garth has stepped up and performed. Garth has set single season records in Touchdowns (25), receptions (69), and tying the record for interceptions (4).

The Riptide enter Saturday's game with a 6-7 record and 9th in the playoff hunt. Former NFL coach Mouse Davis leads the Riptide in his first season as their Head Coach. The Riptide is ranked 4th in Scoring Offense (53.8 pts/game) and 15th in Scoring Defense (49.6 pts/game). QB Kane Claunch has completed 216 of 377 for 3089 yards and 61 touchdowns, while throwing 12 interceptions. Claunch's main target is OS Dwight Carter who has 89 receptions for 1,116 yards and 22 touchdowns.

The Blizzard take to the road the final two weeks of their 2004 schedule when they travel to Midwest Division rivals Louisville and Peoria on July 24th and July 31st, respectively.
