
Record-setting night nets Xplorers 64-46 win over Twisters

LITTLE ROCK - The Memphis Xplorers of af2, behind dominating performances in all phases of the game, defeated the Arkansas Twisters 64-46 before a crowd of 7,918 fans at the Alltel Arena.
OS Kevin Prentiss tied the all-time af2 record for kick returns for touchdowns in a single season in the first quarter of the game, bringing a kick back 55 yards for a score. It was Prentiss's second consecutive game with a kick return for a touchdown. Prentiss also caught six passes for 93 yards and three touchdowns.
Memphis QB Michael Wall threw for 262 yards and seven touchdowns, with four of the scores going to WR/LB Ryan Karr. Karr, who also contributed several key defensive plays, finished with six catches for 96 yards and four touchdowns, and was named the Army Ironman of the game.
Twisters OS Kevin Williams had an impressive game, catching 7 balls for 94 yards and three touchdowns, and returning a kick for a touchdown. He also stepped in at quarterback after starter Travis Motley was injured, completing 3 of 9 passes for 31 yards and a touchdown. Williams won Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Game honors.
Xplorers DS Kenzaki Jones, who grabbed a key interception in the fourth quarter to kill a potential Arkansas scoring drive, was named the ADT Defensive Player of the Game.
The Xplorers moved to 8-6 with the win, assuring themselves of the first non-losing season in franchise history. Arkansas dropped to 2-12 on the season.
The Xplorers will be in action next Saturday, July 24 at 7:05 pm CST as they take on the Macon Knights.
