
Blizzard Leads League in Attendance

Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Green Bay Blizzard led the league in attendance during Week 5. The Blizzard, in a convincing 44-14 win over the Quad City Steamwheelers, played in front of 7,010 fans at US Cellular Field at the Resch Center.
In two games this season the Blizzard has had crowds of 6,404 and 7,010, for an average of 6,707. The Blizzard is currently 4th in attendance in the 30 team league.
With a 2-0 record at home this season, the Blizzard pay a big credit the fans. The Blizzard "9th Man" has made it difficult for opposing teams to play in Green Bay. The Blizzard has allowed an average of 21 points per game at home.
"Our fans are phenomenal. They do a great job of taking the opposing team out of the game, "describes Head Coach Doug Lytle on Blizzard fans.
The Blizzard had some key performances in Week 5. On the defensive side of the ball DB Stephen Cason led the league with 12 tackles. DL Jason Hardee also led the league in Week 5 with 3 total sacks.
QB Zeke Dixon was fourth in the league this week with his 306 yard passing performance. Dixon went 23 for 34 and 5 touchdowns. FB/LB Tony Ficklin was also fourth in the league in rushing with 26 yards.
The Blizzard goes on the road this week to face the 2-2 Tennessee Valley Vipers. After their game in Huntsville, Alabama, the team returns home to take on the Tri-Cities Fever next Friday, May 11th. Area High School Teams will compete to be called Northeast Wisconsin's Strongest Team. The 2nd Annual J.J. Keller Foundation High School Tug of War Challenge will showcase area high school teams. The teams will be competing in an old school Tug of War Challenge. The winner will be presented with the Bradley Williams Memorial Trophy.
Piggly Wiggly and Sargento Cheese are also sponsoring a "Stomp Out Hunger" Food Drive. Fans are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items as they enter the Resch Center. All the food collected will benefit both The Salvation Army and the DePere Christian Outreach Center.
