Bakersfield Blitz News Release

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield Blitz are proud to announce that they have partnered with The Bakersfield Californian to collect athletic equipment for children as part of the Project Playground initiative, according to Blitz President/General Manager Andrew Watkins.

"We're excited to team up with The Bakersfield Californian on this unique project," said Watkins. "Anytime we can support the Bakersfield community and make a difference in the lives of children, we're excited to do so."

Fans that bring any piece of athletic equipment to Rabobank Arena prior to the Bakersfield Blitz game on Saturday, May 5th at 7pm will be able to purchase a Club Level ticket (regularly $30) for just $5. The possibilities for donation are endless: a football, a jump rope, a hula hoop, a soccer ball or a pair of new children's size athletic shoes. Anything that is designed to keep kids active while encouraging healthy lifestyles will be accepted.

Donations will be distributed to the Boys and Girls Club of Bakersfield, the Bakersfield Police Activities League and the Standard and Panama-Buena Vista School Districts.

The Bakersfield Blitz will take on the Boise Burn this Saturday, May 5th at the Rabobank Arena at 7:00 p.m. Season tickets are still available by calling the Blitz at 661-377-2548. Single-game tickets for all seven remaining home games are available at the Rabobank Arena Box Office or at any Ticketmaster outlet. Visit WWW.BBLITZ.COM for more information.
