- Be their fourth division win in 2007.
HEAD COACHES:
MIKE TRIGG, HEAD COACH - CORPUS CHRISTI SHARKS
Mike Trigg knows a thing or two about Arena Football: 167 games coached at the AFL level, head coach of the Arena Bowl XXV champion Grand Rapids Rampage, and the 2001 Coach of the Year award, just to name a few of his qualifications. An alum of East Texas State, Trigg was most recently the head coach of the Philadelphia Soul of the AFL in 2004-05. Prior to taking the helm of the Soul, Trigg spent 1998-2003 in Grand Rapids, where he won Arena Bowl XXV in 2001. He has experienced success playing in the AFL as well as a member of the Detroit Drive in 1989-90, including victories in Arena Bowl III and IV. Trigg began his coaching career in 1994 with the Fort Worth Cavalry. He also coached the Milwaukee Mustangs from 1995-97.
Jon Norris, Bossier - Shreveport: (First season)
Jon Norris came to the BattleWings from the Austin Wranglers of the AFL where he served as the Defensive Coordinator and Line Coach. He made a demonstrative difference in Austin where in 2005, the offensive line gave up only 4 sacks which led the AFL. Norris spent 3 seasons with the Dallas Desperados in the AFL where he served as line coach and special teams coach. His line racked up some impressive stats, both offensively and defensively. Under Norris' leadership, Will Pettis led AFL with 88 kickoff returns for 1750 yards and 4 TD's. Norris moved to Dallas after a stint as assistant head coach and offensive and defensive line coach for the Oklahoma Wranglers. His Oklahoma defense finished 3rd in AFL with 21 sacks.
Norris served as head coach for the Tulsa Talons (af2) and led them to the playoffs in their inaugural season with an offense that averaged 52.7 points per game and a defense that led the league with 33 interceptions
Norris spent time in the NFL with the New England Patriots in 1984 and 1985. He played for the Chicago Bears in 1987 and 1988. Norris is married with two sons.

THIS WEEK'S QUOTES:
Jon Norris, on the Sharks:
"I know they will be determined to make a good impression in front of their home fans. We need to be ready"
On last week's win over Laredo: "it's true that we won ugly. If you look at the stats, they beat us in almost every phase of the game. We can't have sloppy play like that and expect to be successful."
On being 4-0: "Our goal is to win the division and get to the playoffs. That makes this week's game really important, because they're a division opponent. 4-0 just means we've been okay for the first one-fourth of our season. Beyond that, it doesn't mean much more."
DIVISION STANDINGS:

Corpus Christi Sharks 0 - 4 .000 0 - 2 .000
Laredo Lobos 0 - 4 .000 0 - 2 .000
THE STAKES: The Battlewings are on a roll and they don't want to stop. They are undefeated and in first place in their division. The Sharks have yet to win. There is a chance they will play in front of the largest home crowd of the season, and certainly they are seeking a happy result.

LAST SERIES MEETING:
This is the first encounter between these two gridiron squads.
CLEAN LIVING: The Sharks are the least-penalized team in af2 this season.
SERIES NOTABLES:
The Sharks are ranked last in the league in scoring defense after surrendering 93 points to Arkansas last Saturday. The Battlewings are #5 in the league in scoring offense, averaging 58.8 points per game. Corpus Christi has surrendered an average of 72.8 points per game so far this season.
TEAM NOTES/TRENDS:
After a record-setting game against the Texas Copperheads, the Battlewings' defensive line has been relatively quiet. While they have pressured opposing quarterbacks, they have not registered a sack in the last two games.
PLAYERS/MATCHUPS TO WATCH:
Sharks defensive back William Heyward is among league leaders in passes defended and interceptions.
Only one team in the league has had more passes intercepted than the Sharks, and Battlewings defensive backs have proven to be proficient at picks this year.
The sharks are 23rd statistically in pass defense. Quincy Carter may try to get well after throwing two interceptions against Laredo.
DROPBACK:
The BattleWings' next two opponents faced one another Saturday, and it was a one-sided affair. The Arkansas Twisters beat Corpus Christi 93-19.
Corpus Christi led 7-0 to start the game when Brandon Hussey tipped a pass from John De Los Santos to himself and ran it 30 yards for the score. Arkansas responded when Terrance Freeney ran 35 yards on the Twisters first play from scrimmage.
The Sharks led 10-6 after Chris Onorato hit a 48 yard field goal, but Corpus Christi didn't score again until the third quarter. In the meantime, Arkansas ran off 46 unanswered points to run away with the game.
Twisters quarterback Brian Villanueva complete just nine of 12 pass attempts, but racked up 158 yards and six total touchdowns. Arkansas scored on every possession in the game until backup quarterback Davon Vinson, a former Northwestern State star, threw an interception in the third quarter with Arkansas up 66-12. Reggie Cooley finished with three tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks, a fumble recovery, a forced fumble, and a pass breakup.
The Battlewings beat Laredo, 64-45 to remain unbeaten in 2007.
MILESTONES:
The Battle Wings are seeking the second winning season in franchise history. The team's best season was 9-7. The Battle Wings, in six af2 seasons, have yet to reach the playoffs.
This is the first time the BattleWings have been unbeaten through four games.
Quincy Carter tied a franchise record with seven touchdown passes against Rio Grande Valley.
FORWARD MOTION:
The tone of the season will change over the next couple of weeks. Next week, the Battlewings will play in North Little Rock against the Arkansas Twisters. Arkansas is 3-1 after scoring 93 points against Corpus Christi.
Following that, the Wings come home to play the Manchester Wolves, who defeated previously unbeaten Mahoning Valley 63-49 last week.
FAMILIAR FACES:
Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter has started every game for the Battlewings this season. On the road, particularly in Texas, he is in high demand for autographs and photos.
