Green Bay Blizzard News Release
A second-half rally by the Blizzard was not enough as the Arkansas Twisters handed Green Bay their second loss of the season. An interception on the Twister's opening drive by DL Anthony Hoke helped create momentum early for Green Bay. However, on the position change, DB Brandon Freeman inter- cepted a QB Gino Guidugli (10 of 28 for 115 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT) pass which slowed Green Bay's attack.
Leading the rushing attack was Green Bay FB Orlando Medlock (4 for 26 yards) who secured the game's longest run of 18 yards. Wide receivers Shadrack Okoebor (6 for 74 yds) and Robert Garth (6 for 55 yds and 3 TDs) proved to be Green Bay's top threats through the air. QB Mark Nicolet (6 of 8 for 64 yds, 2 TD's) entered the game in the frst drive of the fourth quarter.
Nearly 6,000 Blizzard fans witnessed an unsuccessful comeback at the US Cellular Field at the Resch Center. The Blizzard will be on the road next week for the frst game against their new interstate rival the Milwaukee Iron. This frst game will set the tone for supremacy over arena football in the state. The Blizzard's next home game will be Friday, May 8th against the Iowa Barnstormers when the fans will be treated to a high school tug-o-war challenge.
