Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Green Bay Blizzard has announced that this Saturday's af2 Championship Game, ArenaCup7, will be aired live on Time Warner Cable in the Green Bay and Fox Valley markets.
For Green Bay and Appleton cable systems, the game will be on Time Warner Cable Channel 4. For Digital Cable subscribers in Appleton, Green Bay, Oshkosh and Marinette, it will be on Digital Channel 71. Kickoff is at 5:30pm CST.
As American Conference Champions, the Blizzard (12-6) will take on the National Conference Champion Spokane Shock (16-2) this Saturday at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Blizzard ended the regular season at 10-6 and won the East Division crown in dramatic fashion. They held the #2 seed, and with a home win over the defending af2 Champion Memphis Xplorers and a road win over the #1-seeded Florida Firecats they advanced to their first-ever ArenaCup.
Spokane entered the af2 as an expansion team in 2006, and played their way to the league's best regular season record at 14-2. With home-field advantage they cruised to victories over the Bakersfield Blitz and Arkansas Twisters to become the first expansion team in Arena Football history to earn an ArenaCup berth in their inaugural season.
