Green Bay Blizzard News Release

The Green Bay Blizzard has announced the date and time of the 2nd Annual Blizzard Kids Camp, which will be held on Thursday, July 6th, 2006 from 10:30am-12:00noon at the Resch Center.

Last year's inaugural Kids Camp drew more than 200 boys and girls to learn about Arena Football. The kids were treated to an authentic Arena Football practice, complete with stretching exercises, position battles and drills. Like last year, this year's camp will last an hour-and-a-half, and will be open to the first 200 kids who register. In 2005, the original limit was 150 participants, but overwhelming demand persuaded the Blizzard to raise the limit to 200. In the end, 209 kids took part in the event, including a group of 70 from the Green Bay YWCA.

Conducted by the Blizzard Coaching Staff and players, the camp will feature an authentic practice session, complete with a warm-up stretch and exercises. Then the kids will move on to 4 different stations where they will learn how to throw passes, run routes/catch passes, catch kicks off the nets, and block like the linemen do.

The cost of the Kids Camp is $10 per participant, and everyone who takes part in the camp will receive a voucher for a free ticket to the Blizzard game against the Manchester Wolves the following night, Friday, July 7th, for the Kafka Granite Indoor Fireworks Show, the first-ever indoor fireworks show to follow a Blizzard game. Anyone who would like to register their child to participate can contact the Blizzard office at (920) 405-1264.
