Manchester Wolves News Release

The Manchester Wolves, New Hampshire's professional arenafootball2 team, are making wishes come true.

The Wolves (4-4) will open up the Verizon Wireless Arena to the Make-a-Wish Foundation this Saturday, June 3, at 7:30 p.m., when they take on the Tulsa Talons (5-3) on Brady Sullivan Field. About 40 Make-a-Wish families will be attending the game to cheer on their favorite Wolves. Make-a-Wish participant Riley, 16, will sing the national anthem while Make-a-Wish participant Corey, will perform the opening coin toss before the game.

"We're both pleased and honored to be part of something special like this," said Wolves' General Manager Angelo Mazzella. "It means a lot to us to have someone choose the Wolves to be involved in their wish."

The Wolves will also join forces with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to make another special wish come true.

For his wish, Make-a-Wish participant Corey, 16, wants to have the Wolves and the Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, join forces in a softball game. That game will take place on July 9 after the Fisher Cats take on the Portland Sea Dogs at 1 p.m. at MerchantsAuto.com Stadium. Corey will coach one squad, while his friend, Jason, will coach the other team. In addition, Corey will throw out the first pitch before the Fisher Cats game. The jerseys worn by the two teams during the softball game will be signed by the players and auctioned off to raise money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Spectators will be admitted free of charge to the softball game, but those interested in attending the Fisher Cats game, as well, must purchase tickets through the Fisher Cats box office.

The June 3rd game will be sponsored by the Catholic Medical Center, with the first 3,000 fans receiving a FREE CMC/Wolves cap upon entering the Verizon Wireless Arena.
