Other Happenings: Bennett Reaches 40, Wolves Tee Off!

BENNETT REACHES 40th Win in af2

With last week's Wolves 48-28 win over division rival Wilkes-Barre Scranton, head coach Ben Bennett earned his 40th career win in the arenafootball2 league. Bennett is just the 9th coach in the whole af2 to reach 40 wins.

"Winning my 40th game was much happier then celebrating my 40th birthday," said the always comical Bennett. "I'm just glad we're back on a win-streak."

Spokane Shock Head Coach Chris Siegfried is the af2's active leader with 47 wins, five behind career leader Kevin Guy, who has 52 career wins. Bennett is 40-22 overall in his af2 career, good for a..645 winning percentage.

Bennett, who was inducted into the Arena Football League Hall-of-Fame in 2000, is now in his fourth year as an af2 head coach. Bennett came to Manchester before the 2005 season after leading the Florida Firecats to back-to-back ArenaCup appearances, winning the af2 title in 2004. Bennett led the Wolves to a breakout campaign in 2005, turning around a club that finished 5-11 in 2004 and taking them to a 12-4 regular season mark and a first-ever East Division title. This year, the Wolves are currently 4-4, in the midst of a two-game win streak which includes victories over the #1 ranked Florida Firecats and #2 ranked Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers in consecutive weeks.
