Green Bay Blizzard News Release

Green Bay, WI – The Green Bay Blizzard and Head Coach Brian Noble, held a 1:00 p.m press conference today to announce the signing of two players with NFL experience to their Blizzard squad.

The first player is QB Chris Greisen (6'3, 225, Northwest Missouri State) from Sturgeon Bay, WI which is 50 minutes north of Green Bay. The Arizona Cardinals drafted Greisen in the 7th round of the of the 1999 NFL draft where he was a back up to starter Jake Plummer for 3 years. Greisen's playing days started at nearby Sturgeon Bay High School where he led the Clippers to the Division II State Championship game in 1994. Following his brilliant career at Sturgeon Bay, Greisen went to Northwest Missouri State, winning the NCAA Division II National Title in 1998. Most recently, the Washington Redskins allocated Greisen from their 2003 practice squad to NFL Europe where he took the Rhein Fire to the World Bowl Championship game losing to the Frankfurt Galaxy. "We are extremely excited to have such a talented quarterback in Chris on the Blizzard team", stated Coach Noble. "Chris has been a winner everywhere he has been", said Coach Noble.

Also, WR/LB Randall Lane (6'0, 200, Purdue) has been signed by the Blizzard after being a member of the 2003 Midwest Division Champs, Quad City Steamwheelers of the af2. Most Wisconsin Badger fans will remember when Lane caught 18 balls against the Badgers to set a NCAA record for catches in a game. Lane was a teammate of Greisen for 1.5 years when he too was a member of the Arizona Cardinals. "Randall brings big play ability to our team and a go to guy", said Coach Noble.
