Bakersfield Blitz News Release
BAKERSFIELD - Bakersfield Blitz WR/DB DeRonn Finley, Blitz girlz, and team mascot, Crusher, pumped kids up for the STAR, Standardized Testing and Reporting, Friday morning, April 21, at the "Do Your Best On the Test" pep rally at Frank West Elementary School.
Blitz team members helped get students excited about the six day schedule of testing. The rally consisted of a Blitz girlz dance and an inspirational word from Blitz WR/DB DeRonn Finley. Students, faculty, and school principal chanted, "Crush-the-Test!" as Blitz mascot, Crusher, made his way throughout the gymnasium.
"We wanted to use this rally to really get kids excited about taking the test," Arlene Sylvestro, Program Specialist at Frankwest School said. "We wanted to go over testing strategies in a fun way so students will remember for next week."
