Week in Review:
Friday, April 6th, 2012 at Portland Winterhawks - 5-3 Loss
The Blazers started off right, but struggled in the third period and fell 5-3 in the series opener. Matt Needham started the Blazers off tipping in a shot from Bronson Maschmeyer only 24 seconds into the game for a 1-0 lead. Jordan DePape made it 2-0 as he put home a rebound after some great work down low from Brendan Ranford and Brandon Herrod. The "ËHawks cut into the lead as Ty Rattie's shot beat Cole Cheveldave to make it 2-1. Chase Souto restored the two goal lead with a great shot beating Mac Carruth to make it 3-1. The "ËHawks blew the game open in the last 11 minutes. Sven Bartschi and Ty Rattie scored goals just over a minute apart to tie the game up. Brad Ross won it with a power play marker. Ross also added an empty net goal to make it a 5-3 final. Cole Cheveldave finished with 41 saves while Mac Carruth turned aside 26 shots. Full Recap and Highlights.
Saturday, April 7th, 2012 at Portland Winterhawks - 4-1 Loss
The Blazers struggled to score and fell 4-1 to the Winterhawks on Saturday night. The win gave the "ËHawks a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven playoff series. The Blazers were off to a similar start as they were very good in the first half of the game. Goaltender Mac Carruth was solid in goal for the Winterhawks and it showed on the scoreboard as he was the game's first star making 39 saves. The Blazers continued their strong play in the second period, but a mistake in the final minute of the period gave the "ËHawks a chance. Marcel Noebels kept a puck in the Blazers zone and Sven Bartschi tipped in his shot for a 1-0 lead. The "ËHawks were ready to start the third period and came out flying scoring two goals in the first 1:15 of the period to make it 3-0. The Blazers responded as Chase Souto's wrap around beat Carruth to make it 3-1. The "ËHawks capitalized on a 5-on-3 power play and kept the Blazers off the score sheet the rest of the way for a 4-1 win. Cam Lanigan started in favour of Cole Cheveldave who went down with an undisclosed injury in the dying minutes of Game 1 after being hit by Oliver Gabriel. Gabriel was suspended for Game 2 and continues to be suspended for a "to be determined" length. Lanigan played well making 30 saves for the Blazers. Full Recap and Highlights.
Playoff Tickets on Sale for Tuesday and Wednesday Night!
The Blazers are down 2-0 in a best-of-seven WHL Western Conference Semi-Finals with the Portland Winterhawks. The Blazers will have a chance to get themselves back in the series at home for Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday, April 10th and Wednesday, April 11th.

Cameron Hughes is Back!
The super fan Cameron Hughes will be at Game 3 and Game 4 this Tuesday and Wednesday night. Hughes is a popular entertainer who has performed at many major professional sports events and the Olympics. He attended a Blazer game earlier this season and was a hit with the fans! Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday and Wednesday Night
For the first time since the 1998-99 season, the Blazers will be hosting playoff games in April! Here are some promotional details for each game.
On Tuesday night, CSC Electric is the game night sponsor and they will be giving away 4000 playoff towels at the front doors.
On Tuesday and Wednesday night, fans will have an opportunity to enter for the chance to "ËShoot-to-Win a Harley Davidson Motorcycle!' A winner will be selected during the 1st intermission and will shoot for the chance to win the Harley in the second intermission on Wednesday night.
Wednesday night is A&W Teen Burger Night! If the Blazers score 4 or more goals and win the game, all fans in attendance can exchange their game ticket for a FREE Teen Burger at any Kamloops A&W location.
Bozon and Gaudet Ranked in NHL Central Scouting's Final Rankings
The Blazers had two players ranked in NHL Central Scouting's Final Rankings. Rookie forward Tim Bozon is ranked 42nd among North American skaters, while defenseman Brady Gaudet is 205th among North American skaters. For more details, follow this link.
