Two Raiders Named in NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings

Prince Albert SK - National Hockey League Central Scouting has ranked two Prince Albert Raiders, 17-year-old forward Mike Winther and 18-year-old goaltender Cole Holowenko, among the top North American players eligible for the upcoming 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft in Pittsburgh this June.

Winther, who is ranked 21st among North American skaters, finished the season sitting 2nd among all Western Hockey League draft eligible players in goals, with 32, and finished 4th on the Raiders in points, with 56. The Trochu, Alberta native also led all draft eligible players in the league with 16 power play markers and tied for the most shorthanded markers with 4. The Raiders 1st round pick, 6th overall, in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft, is the 2nd highest ranked forward in the WHL and was recently named to Team Canada for the upcoming Under-18 World Championships in the Czech Republic.

Holowenko has been ranked 29th among North American goaltenders, finishing the year with a 13-26-1-1 record while recording a 3.98 goals against average and .890 save percentage. The rookie net minder played his strongest month of hockey in December, when he took over as the Raiders starting goaltender, posting a 5-1-0-0 record, including his first career shutout. The Penticton, BC product is 1 of only 5 WHL goalies to be ranked by Central Scouting.
