Kamloops Blazers News Release
The Blazers enter the Christmas break at an even .500 on the season...posting an 18-18-0-1 record 37 games into the season. Here's what happened last week en route to a 1-1-0-1 record:
LAST WEEK:
December 13th vs. Swift Current
The Blazers got goals from 4 different players en route to a 4-1 win over the Broncos at Interior Savings Centre. Brady Mason, TJ Mulock, Moises Gutierrez, and Ray Macias scored for the Blazers...with 2 of those goals coming shorthanded and another on the powerplay. Final shots were 32-22 Blazers...with Michael Maniago picking up the win and Kyle Moir suffering the loss. The Blazers were 1-for-6 on the PP and 6-for-7 on the PK.
December 16th @ Prince George
Real Cyr made 20 saves for the shutout as the Cougars beat the Blazers 3-0 at the CN Centre. Final shots were 32-20 Cougars...with the Blazers 0-for-4 on the PP and 5-for-5 on the PK. Michael Maniago took the loss.
December 17th @ Prince George
Eric Hunter scored the winner in the shootout as the Cougars rallied to beat the Blazers 2-1 at CN Centre. Roman Tesliuk scored the lone Blazer goal...as the Blazers went 1-for-6 on the PP and 8-for-8 on the PK. Final shots were 39-16 Cougars...with Michael Maniago taking the loss and Scott Bowles the win.

NEWS:
Devan Dubnyk was named to Team Canada last Friday. He and Team Canada will be in Kamloops for a pre-tournament game against Russia on Thursday. Janick Steinmann is meeting up with Team Switzerland this week for the World Junior tournament. Games start Boxing Day in Vancouver, Kelowna, and Kamloops. Tickets for the Kamloops games are available at the Interior Savings Centre Box Office.

THE WEEK TO COME:
Nothing this week. The team reconvenes on Boxing Day in Vancouver to prepare for a 3-game in 3-night weekend starting December 27th in Seattle. The trip continues into Tri-Cities on the 28th and Portland on the 29th.
