Blazers Show Bright Future

Young Team Shows Promise Against Powerhouse Giants

Losing is always tough, but there are a lot of positives for the Kamloops Blazers and their fans to draw from the later part of the regular season and the playoff series against the strong and experienced Vancouver Giants. After a season filled with a lot of unknowns, there is a strong sense of stability and direction with the club. It was easy to brush off the young, inexperienced group once a good chunk of the team's offence was traded away at the deadline, but led by Coach Guy Charron, it wasn't long before the character and the promise of the group started to show through.

Up against the powerhouse Giants, the Blazers put up quite the battle in their playoff series. The Blazers led or were tied with the Giants for 89% of those 4 games. They couldn't quite hang on to win a game, but they never gave up, never threw in the towel, and you have to believe that there's a lot to look forward to with this group next season. Going into the playoffs the Blazers had only 99 games of playoff experience collectively. With Guy Charron signed for two more years, and a great nucleus of young talent, the Kamloops Blazers will be an exciting team to watch next season.
