Kamloops, BC * Day 4 of training camp is complete, as another set of cuts were made today. The Blazers roster shrunk to 40 players by the end of the night with the reassignment of 20 players. The most notable players reassigned, include defenceman Brady Gaudet (1st round 2009) and goaltender Josh Thorimbert (3rd round 2007) both due to injuries. Gaudet will play with the Tisdale Trojans in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA League and Thorimbert will play in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
In the games tonight, Team Orange defeated Team White 6-5 in the 5pm match up. Dalibor Bortnak and Cole Grbavac each had a pair for the winning side, and Team White had five different goal scorers.
Team Blue was rested and came out strong as they defeated Team White 8-2 in the second game of the evening. Team Blue was led by Dylan Willick (list player) who had a hat trick and Mark Hall who scored twice. Brandon Underwood and Kiefer McNaughton (4th round 2008) had an impressive scrap in the game.
The final game of the night saw Team Orange narrowly defeating Team Blue 4-3. There were seven different goal scorers in the game. The first half of the game saw strong goaltending with John Keeney (list player) stopping all 12 shots he faced and Kyle Baumgardner stopping 8 of 9 shots.
Tomorrow is the annual Blue / White game at the ISC starting at 7pm. Cost of admission is $5 for Adults / Seniors, and free for Youths.
