Blast to Host Milwaukee Friday Night; Travel to Chicago on Saturday

Farias Named Co-Offensive Player of the Week: Baltimore's 11-7 win over the Cleveland Force snapped a five-game losing streak and moved the Blast to within two games of the Eastern-Division leading Philadelphia KiXX. Forward Chile Farias led the Blast with five points in the game (two goals and three assists) and was named co-MISL Offensive Player of the Week for his performance. Farias is tied with the Steamers' Daryl Doran to lead the MISL in points (18) and also leads the Blast in points, goals (10) and assists (8). Farias, a two-time MISL All Star and All-League selection, shared this week's honor with Kansas City's Jamar Beasley.

Blast vs. Wave:

Friday night is the second of four matches between the Blast and the Wave this season and the final regular-season match between the clubs in Baltimore. Milwaukee leads the all-time regular-season series between the teams, 27-15, while Baltimore leads the postseason series, 5-2. The teams will meet again next weekend in Milwaukee and then for the last time on April 24th.

Blast vs. Storm:

Saturday night will be the second of four matches between the Blast and the Storm this season and the first of two games between the clubs in Chicago. The expansion Storm is coached by Frank Klopas, a former member of the U.S. National Team, and is 5-5 on the season and 2-2 at home.

Blast Signs Chantel, Hare:

Baltimore Blast General Manager Kevin Healey announced last week that the Blast signed forward Marcos Chantel to a five-game/15-day contract. Chantel, 6-2, 180-pounds, has been training with the Blast for the last several weeks and played in his first game Saturday night in Cleveland. He recorded two goals and one assist in his MISL debut. The team also announced last week that it signed defender Jeff Hare to a five-game/15-day contract. Hare, a graduate of Princeton University, has been training with the Blast all season and also played for the team Saturday night in Cleveland.

Knee Surgery Successful for Cabral and Garcia:

Blast forwards Denison Cabral and Carlos Garcia underwent successful knee surgery on Tuesday, November 23 at Union Memorial. Cabral, the team's all-time leading scorer, and Garcia, playing in his second season with the Blast, were both injured on November 12 when the Blast hosted the Milwaukee Wave. The Blast has placed Cabral on the MISL's 60-day/20-game Inactive-Injured List.
