Baltimore Blast News Release

Baltimore, MD - The MISL announced today that Baltimore Blast players Michael Todd, Mike Lookingland and goalkeeper Sagu have been named MISL Players of the Week after the Blast's 8-2 victory over the Philadelphia KiXX Friday night. The KiXX jumped out to an early 2-0 lead Friday night before the Blast scored four unanswered goals to win their first game of the season, in front of 10,115 fans at 1st Mariner Arena.

In his first MISL game, Todd, 25, led the Blast with two goals. With the Blast down 2-0, Todd scored at the 10:29 mark of the first quarter to tie the game at 2-2. He scored again, in the fourth quarter, to clinch the 8-2 victory. Baltimore's 2007 first-round MISL Amateur Draft pick, Todd played college soccer at Hofstra University and was the 2006 Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year after recording 10 goals and three assists for 26 points. The 6-0, 182-pound native of Cleveland, England was also named Second-Team All-America after his senior season and was a three-time All-CAA and three-time All-Region selection. Todd is one of just two players in Hofstra history to record 100+ points in his career (101) and led the Pride to three straight CAA Championships and the three straight NCAA tournament appearances.

Defender Mike Lookingland assisted on Todd's goal at 10:29 of the first quarter to tie the game at 2-2. Lookingland, 24, attended Loyola High School and played collegiate soccer at Bucknell University. He was selected to the 2007 MISL All-Rookie team after recording 15 points and 18 blocks in his first full MISL season.

Blast goalkeeper Sagu allowed just one goal in Baltimore's win over the Philadelphia, holding the KiXX scoreless after the 5:05 mark of the first quarter. Sagu stopped eight of the nine shots he faced (.890 save percentage). Sagu, who was named All-MISL Second-Team the last two seasons, led the MISL with a .728 save percentage and a 10.53 points against average last season.

The Blast will return to 1st Mariner Arena this Saturday night, October 27, to host the Milwaukee Wave. The team will play its first road game November 3 against the expansion Orlando Sharks.
