GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Sagu, Baltimore Blast
Blast goalkeeper Sagu allowed just one goal in Baltimore's 8-2 win over the visiting Philadelphia KiXX Friday night. In the first game of the 2007-08 season, the Blast fell behind, 2-0, in the sixth minute of the game but held the KiXX scoreless for the remaining 54:55 of play. Sagu stopped eight of the nine shots he faced (.890 save percentage).
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Michael Lookingland, Baltimore Blast
Mike Lookingland recorded one assist from his defensive position in Baltimore's 8-2 win over Philadelphia. Lookingland assisted on Michael Todd's goal at 10:29 of the first quarter to tie the game at 2-2.
The 2004 Bucknell graduate as selected to the 2007 MISL All-Rookie team.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Michael Todd, Baltimore Blast
Blast rookie forward Michael Todd scored two goals in his MISL/Blast debut Friday night to lead the team to an 8-2 win over the Philadelphia KiXX. Todd scored Baltimore's first goal of the game, at 10:29 of the first quarter, to tie the game at 2-2. He scored again in the fifth minute of the fourth quarter to seal the 8-2 victory.
Todd, Baltimore's 2007 first-round MISL Amateur Draft pick, played college soccer at Hofstra University and was the 2006 Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year after recording 10 goals and three assists for 26 points. The 6-0, 182-pound native of Cleveland, England was also named Second-Team All- America after his senior season and was a three-time All-CAA and three-time All- Region selection. Todd is one of just two players in Hofstra history to record 100+ points in his career (101) and led the Pride to three straight CAA Championships and the three straight NCAA tournament appearances.
