Blast Fall to Wave 5-1

Baltimore Blast News Release
The Blast fell to Milwaukee tonight by a score of 5-1. In front of a crowd of 5,974, the Wave used strong defense and great goaltending to get the win.
The game got off to a quick start, with Milwaukee scoring in the first minute of the game. Angel Curiel got on the board to give the Wave an early lead. Both teams played tight defense and both goalkeepers made key saves to keep the game at 1-0 for most of the 1st half. Max Ferdinand was able to break through for Milwaukee 8:50 into the second quarter to give the Wave a 2-0 lead going into halftime.
The tight defense continued in the second half, as neither team was able to break through with a goal in the 3rd quarter. The Wave were able to get on the board with two straight goals in the fourth quarter. Daniel Mattos and Ian Bennett scored for Milwaukee to take a 4-0 lead. Andrew Hoxie scored for the Blast with the extra attacker on the field, but Marcio Leite added an empty net goal for Milwaukee for a final score of 5-1.
The loss is the second straight loss for the Blast. Baltimore went 0-2 on the power play while Milwaukee was 1-2 with the man advantage. Blast goalkeeper Joey Kapinos made 6 saves in the game. Marcio Leite had one goal and one assist for Milwaukee and goalkeeper Josh Lemos recorded 14 saves for the Wave.
The Blast are back in action with the final two home games of the regular season next weekend. They host the Milwaukee Wave on Friday, February 23rd at 7:35 p.m. EST and the Florida Tropics on Saturday, February 24th at 6:05 p.m. EST.
