
Blast Fall to Silver Knights 3-2

The Blast traveled to Syracuse on Sunday for a divisional matchup against the Silver Knights. In a defensive battle the Silver Knights were able upset the Blast 3-2, handing them their first loss of the season.
The Blast took an early lead when Adriano Dos Santos found the back of the net at the 6:14 mark off an assist from Onua Obasi. Minutes later Lucas Roque scored his 10th goal of the season assisted by William Vanzela.
The Silver Knights would get on the scoreboard in the second quarter at the 9:25 mark with a goal from Domenico Vitale. No other goals were scored in the half. Blast goalkeeper, William Vanzela, recorded 4 saves in the half and went into the locker room leading 2-1.
Both teams continued to play strong defensively as no goals were scored in the third quarter. William Vanzela recorded 7 saves while Jinho Kim, Onua Obasi, Adriano Dos Santos, Karou Forbess, and Pat Healey all recorded blocks. The Blast entered the final quarter leading 2-1.
The fourth quarter was an exciting battle but the Silver Knights were able to score back to back goals. Kenardo Forbes tied the game at 2 and then Doug Miller scored the game winner for the Silver Knights. The final score was Silver Knights 3 Blast 2.
The Blast fall to 11-1 on the season. The Blast goals were scored by Adriano Dos Santos and Lucas Roque. Goalkeeper, William Vanzela, recorded 16 saves on the night while the Blast defense recorded 7 blocks. The Blast will hit the road next week for back to back games in St. Louis and Missouri. The weekend starts in St. Louis for a game Saturday, January 30th, against the Ambush. Kickoff is at 7:05p.m. from the Family Arena.
