
Blast Defeat Syracuse 7-6; Take Game One of Eastern Division Final

Baltimore Blast News Release
The Blast held off a late Syracuse rally to defeat the Silver Knights 7-6. Daniel Peruzzi and Vini Dantas each had 2 goals for the Blast. Bo Jelovac recorded two goals and one assist for Syracuse.
The Blast came out strong in the first half, taking advantage of their opportunities on offense and playing tight defense. Vini Dantas scored two goals in the first quarter and Andrew Hoxie added another goal for the Blast in the second quarter. The Blast defense did the rest, as they were able to limit Syracuse's opportunities to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
The Blast started the second half strong as well, scoring the first two goals. Goals by Daniel Peruzzi and Jonatas Melo gave the Blast a 5-0 lead. Syracuse answered with two straight goals of their own, on goals by Bo Jelovac and Domenico Vitale. Daniel Peruzzi scored for the Blast, but Syracuse once again answered with two straight goals. Kenardo Forbes and Jake Schindler scored to make it a 6-4 game. Jereme Raley answered with a goal for the Blast, but Syracuse would rally. Darren Toby and Bo Jelovac scored with the extra attacker on to make it a 7-6 game. The Blast defense was able to hold off the Silver Knights rally to win 7-6.
Tony Donatelli, Jamie Thomas, and Jonathan Greenfield each recorded an assist for Baltimore. Pat Healey had 6 blocks and goalkeeper Joey Kapinos made 14 saves for the Blast. Joey Tavernese and Nate Bordeau each recorded an assist and Andrew Coughlin had 8 saves for Syracuse.
The Blast are back in action for Game Two of the Eastern Divisional Finals against the Silver Knights on Sunday, March 11th at 5:05 p.m. EST at SECU Arena. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Blast office or at ticketmaster.com.
