Baltimore, MD - The Blast hosted the Heat on Saturday night in a battle for the fourth playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. In a back and forth game, the Blast were victorious 7-4.

The Blast took control of the game early with two first quarter goals. Jonathan Melo recorded the first goal of the game and Tony Donatelli recorded his 18th goal of the season assisted by Victor France. At the end of the first the Blast led 2-0.

The Heat controlled the second quarter with two goals of their own. Dominic Francis recorded the first Heat goal of the game and Elton de Oliveira recorded the game-tying goal from the top of the arc. Blast goalkeeper William Vanzela recorded 11 saves in net for the Blast during the first half. At the half, the game was tied 2-2.

The game picked up physically in the second half as both teams made adjustments. It took the Blast only 23 seconds to score as Vini Dantas recorded his 27th goal of the season. Tavoy Morgan would find the back of the net for the Heat to tie the game at three. The Blast kept the pressure on when Jamie Thomas recorded a goal assisted by Tony Donatelli but the Heat would again answer with another goal from Tavoy Morgan. Before the end of the quarter, Vini Dantas was able to put the Blast back on top with his second goal of the game. The Blast entered the final quarter leading 5-4.

In the final period, Lucas Roque recorded a goal at the 2:18 mark and the Blast defense took over from there. Goalkeeper William Vanzela and the defense kept Harrisburg scoreless in the quarter including a great block by Marco Nascimento to stop a sure goal. Vanzela would record an empty net goal and at the final buzzer, the Blast defeated the Heat 7-4.

The Blast were led by Tony Donatelli with one goal and three assists on the night. Vini Dantas added two goals. Defensively, William Vanzela recorded 18 saves while Tony Donatelli, Jamie Thomas, and Adriano Dos Santos all recorded multiple blocks.

The Blast return home Friday, February 21st to host the Orlando Seawolves. Kickoff is at 7:35 p.m. from the SECU Arena. Tickets are available through the Blast office or TicketMaster.
