Blades Visit Oil Kings for Hockey Night in Edmonton

Tonight... The Blades will try to snap a 2-game winless skid in Edmonton against the Oil Kings. It's already the 2ndand final visit to Edmonton of the regular season. The Blades are coming off a 4-3 OTL last night in Red Deer while the Oil Kings thumped the Kootenay ICE 7-2 last night in Cranbrook. It's the 2nd win in a row for Edmonton after an 8-game winless skid, which began with a loss to the Blades back on October 3rd.

The last game... Nolan Maier made a season high 44 saves in a 4-3 overtime loss in Red Deer to the Rebels. Former Rebel Brandon Schuldhaus factored in on all three Saskatoon goals with 1G-2A. Kirby Dach scored his 8th goal of the season with 2:05 left in the 3rd to force overtime, he also had an assist in the loss. Max Gerlach scored the first goal of the game, his 8th of the season.

Head to head... Saskatoon leads the season series 1-0 so far after a 5-3 win earlier in the month on October 3rd in Edmonton. Fort Saskatchewan native Eric Florchuk had 2 goals in the win while Kirby Dach and Dawson Davidson each had a goal and 2 helpers. Trey Fix-Wolansky had 2 goals for Edmonton. The Blades went 4-0 against the Oil Kings last season.
