Saskatoon Blades News Release
SASKATOON, SK - The Saskatoon Blades have cut their active preseason roster to 29 players ahead of Saturday's game against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
The roster is now made up of 17 forwards, nine defencemen, and three goaltenders.
Five of the 29 rostered players are currently away from the team. Import forwards Yegor Sidorov and Moritz Elias are traveling into Saskatoon, and are expected to arrive early next week.
Colton Dach (Chicago Blackhawks), Tristen Robins (San Jose Sharks), and Rhett Rhinehart (Colorado Avalanche) are state-side attending NHL camps.
Saskatoon is coming off a gritty 4-3 victory over the Oil Kings on Friday night to open preseason play. Off-season acquisition Brendan Lee was named the game's first star after collecting one goal and one assist, and 2001-born forward Evan Patrician notched the game-winner to take second-star honours.
Saturday's contest begins at 4:00pm, with doors to SaskTel Centre opening one hour ahead of puck-drop.
