Medicine Hat Tigers News Release

Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers announced today that they have signed forward Brett Calhoon ('05) to a standard WHL player agreement.

The Oliver, BC product was selected by the Tigers in the 9th round of the 2020 WHL Draft, 193rd overall. Calhoon appeared in 9 games in the 2020-2021 season for the Okanagan HA Black U17 Prep team of the CSSHL, where he recorded 9 points (2G, 7A) in the shortened season. In 2019-2020 Calhoon played in 30 games with the Okanagan HA U15 Prep team, notching 7 goals and 14 assists.

"Brett is an all around 2-way forward with a solid 200 foot game. He contributes at both ends of the rink, plays a heavy game, and makes the oppositions life miserable." says Tigers Director of Player Personnel. " We would like to welcome Brett and his family to the Tigers family."

Calhoon saw his first action in a Tigers jersey last night as the team traveled to Lethbridge to take on the Hurricanes for their first preseason game this year. The Tigers return home to Co-op Place tonight for the rematch with Lethbridge. Tickets are $20 each and available when doors open at 6pm. Cash only please. Proceeds from the Tigers preseason games will help support Irvine Minor Hockey.
