Saskatoon, SK - The Saskatoon Blades dropped Game 2 vs the Red Deer Rebels 5-2 Sunday afternoon at SaskTel Centre.

Saskatoon trailed heading into the third period for a second straight game and began to mount their comeback too late. Another low event game saw the Blue and Gold outshot 20-16 by the visitors.

The Bridge City Bunch head on the road trailing 2-0 in their second-round, best-of-seven playoff series.

No lamp was lit in the first period for the second consecutive time this series. The middle frame is where Red Deer did their most damage.

Anaheim Ducks prospect Ben King scored his fourth of the playoffs with pinpoint accuracy on the powerplay. The pending WHL graduate's goal came 7:53 into the middle frame and now has 11 points in five games after three assists later on.

WHL Defenceman of the Year nominee Christoffer Sedoff tallied his second of the series and fourth of the postseason just under three-minutes later. The Helsinki, Finland product has six points in seven games after registering 51 in 59 regular season contests.

Delisle, SK's own Jhett Larson netted his second of the series just over halfway through the frame to make it a 3-0 Rebels lead. The 5-foot-8 winger is up to three goals and eight points this playoffs.

Forward Carson Birnie made Saskatoon's comeback that much more difficult scoring under four-minutes into the final 20 making it 4-0. It's the Arcola, SK. native's first of the postseason, giving him two points in seven games.

This marked the end of rookie netminder Austin Elliott's night. Saskatoon, SK's own Ethan Chadwick went between the pipes in relief.

Toronto Maple Leafs Brandon Lisowsky breathed life into SaskTel Centre with a powerplay tally just under halfway through the period. The Port Coquitlam, BC. product's been snakebitten this series, and his first vs the Rebels is a good sign things may be turning around for the 5-foot-9 winger. Lisowsky has four points this playoffs after putting up a career-high 38 goals and 70 points in 65 regular season outings.

Momentum was halted as Rebels captain Jayden Grubbe netted his second goal of the postseason 12:47 into the third making it 5-1 Rebels. The 6-foot-3 center is averaging two points per-game with 14 in seven appearances.

Alternate captain Charlie Wright sent fans home on a less sour note scoring his second of the postseason with six-seconds left in the game. The Olds, AB. product is up to six points in nine games on his second trip to the spring dance. Forward Egor Sidorov assisted on the goal extending his point streak to eight games.
