October 24, 2019 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
Saskatoon, SK - The Saskatoon Blades are pleased to announce the signing of 2004 born goaltender Austin Elliott to a Western Hockey League standard player agreement. Elliott, a product of Strathmore, Alberta, was selected 261st overall by the Blades in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft.
Elliott appeared in 16 regular season games with the Notre Dame Hounds' Bantam Prep side of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League during the 2018-19 season, finishing with an 8-8-0-0 record.
"Austin is an athletic and technically strong goalie who consistently caught our eye with quality starts last season," stated Blades' director of scouting Dan Tencer. "He impressed us again at our training camp in the fall, where he earned an extended stay. He is very driven off the ice and earns high praise from the coaches who have worked with him."
Elliott becomes the fourth player from the Blades' 2019 draft class to sign (Lisowsky, Smith & Chadwick).
