STREAK IS OVER: Forward Rowan Calvert's two goals weren't enough as the Saskatoon Blades fell 5-4 to the Red Deer Rebels on Wednesday at the Peavey Mart Centrium.
One of the 18-year-old winger's goals was his first powerplay tally of the season, giving him seven goals and 15 points in 42 games this season. Toronto Maple Leafs' prospect Fraser Minten recorded a goal and an assist to extend his point streak to six games (3G, 6A). In 17 games, the Vancouver, BC product has six goals and 22 points.
Despite putting four past rookie netminder Chase Wutzke, the Blades were stonewalled a handful of times from the Rebels goalie. The Blades point streak comes to an end at 18 games, but they remain top of the WHL with a 29-9-2-2 record.
NEXT GAME: The Blades visit the Scotiabank Saddledome for the final time during the regular season on Friday to take on the Calgary Hitmen.
Puck drop is 8:00pm CT.
