
Blades Get a Win on Winning Wednesday

WINNING WEDNESDAY: The Saskatoon Blades added another win under their belt at SaskTel Centre Wednesday evening with a 5-1 win over the Tri-City Americans. This marks the first time the teams have gone head-to-head at SaskTel Centre since 2018.
A NIGHT OF FIRSTS: Defender Ben Saunderson notched his first career WHL goal and rookie forward Smyth Rebman earned his first career WHL point.
PLENTY OF GOALS: Captain Aidan De La Gorgendiere opened the scoring for the Blades in the first period. Rowan Calvert, Maple Leafs prospect Brandon Lisowsky, Ben Saunderson and Trevor Wong also all found the scoresheet Wednesday evening.
BETWEEN THE PIPES:Austin Elliott earned his sixth win of the season and increased his save percentage to .942. The Blades rookie backstop was named the team's player of the month for October alongside his partner Ethan Chadwick prior to the game.
NEXT GAME: Saskatoon will welcome another American team on Friday night for Military Appreciation Night at SaskTel Centre. Doors open at 6:00pm with Happy Hour specials on Original 16 beer and puck drop at 7:00pm.
