Saskatoon Blades News Release
The Saskatoon Blades were unable to extend their winning streak to 11 games as they were upended by the struggling Moose Jaw Warriors by a score of 4-3.
The Blades got off to the start they wanted as Burke Gallimore (PP) finished a pretty passing play for his 21st goal of the season. The Warriors battled hard in the first twenty minutes and were rewarded with 3 goals to close out the first, giving them a 3-1 lead.
The Blades once again started well to open the second period, when on the power play Walker Wintoneak tipped a shot that found its way through the five-hole of Warrior`s goalie Jeff Bosch. The Warriors regained their two goal lead later in the period when Dylan Hood crashed the net and the puck crossed the goal line before the net was dislodged. Wintoneak closed the gap once more when he deflected another shot that beat Bosch top shelf. The Warriors led 4-3 after 40 minutes.
The Blades applied pressure for the most part of the third period but could not buy a break as the Warriors held off the charge to snap their 11 game losing streak. Adam Morrison made 16 saves on 20 shots and the Blades power play was 2 for 4 on the night.
The Blades return home on Tuesday night to face their rivals, the Regina Pats. Puck drop is at 7:05PM.
