'Blades Add Center Kevin Lynch for 2014-15 Season

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades announced Thursday that the team has agreed to terms with forward Kevin Lynch for the 2014-15 season. (Photo Courtesy of Toledo Walleye).

Lynch, 23, joins the Everblades after totaling 35 points in 63 ECHL games split between the Toledo Walleye and the Evansville Icemen last season. The 6-1, 198-pound center posted 28 points (10g, 18a) in 53 appearances with the Walleye and logged seven points (3g, 4a) in 14 games with Evansville .

"Kevin is a strong two-way center, who had a good career at the University of Michigan," said Everblades Head Coach Greg Poss. "He had a productive first season in this league a year ago with Toledo and Evansville, and by the end of the year he was one of top players for Evansville."

Lynch recorded 66 points during his four-year collegiate career at the University of Michigan from 2009-2013. In addition, he posted a career best 27 points with the Wolverines during the 2012-13 season. Lynch recorded 40 points (24g, 24a) with the U.S. National Under-18 Team in 2008-09.

The Grosse Pointe, Michigan native is a second round draft selection (56th overall) of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Lynch becomes the fourteenth player to agree to terms with the Everblades for the 2014-15 season. He joins forwards Mitch Wahl, Chris Kushneriuk, Kyle Stroh, Alex Lavoie, Mike Cichy, Mike Silengo, Evan Bloodoff, Jason Wilson, and defensemen Mike Little, Jordan Henry, Tyson Gimblett, Cameron Burt, and Kevin Hart.

The Everblades open the 2014-15 season on Friday, October 17 against the South Carolina Stingrays. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the first four games of the regular season and preseason are currently on sale!
